I love, love, love seeing families grow. Last year, we had the pleasure of photographing Cheryl and Mike’s wedding… then a couple of months ago, some beautiful maternity photographs of Cheryl… and now, sweet little Emma has arrived safely. Emma was an absolute dream to photograph and slept for most of our session, which always makes me happy 🙂
So peaceful in mom’s arms!
And baby makes three…
It is so evident to me how special Emma is to Mike.
And how safe she feels cuddled up in dad’s arms
With the wonderful warm weather we’ve been having, I was so excited to take some photographs of Emma outside. Doesn’t she look like she’s loving the fresh air and warmth?
She’s so very tiny!
Then we headed inside to the nursery, which is beautifully decorated with cushions and curtains made by Cheryl… and they were perfect props for me!
How sweet is she???
This image makes me smile. When I did Cheryl’s maternity session, she brought along this rocking chair, which she’d just finished the cushions for. I took a photograph of the chair with the headband and booties just sitting in it… waiting… for this little one to arrive and be able to wear them 🙂
More snuggles with mom
Such a sweet little family!
This is likely one of my favourite images from the session. Cheryl has a beautiful photo blanket that belonged to her Nan. Her Nan passed away last year, just a few months before Cheryl got married, which I know was hard on the entire family. I took a few images of Emma, asleep on the blanket and then she moved her hands a little and to me, it looked like she was “hugging” her great Nan. A perfect reminder that loved ones are always close to our hearts, even when they are no longer with us.
Cheryl and Mike, I can’t tell you how much it’s meant to me to photograph all the amazing events in your lives over the past year. Thank you so much for your trust, and support. I’m so incredibly honoured. Emma is an absolute doll and I know she couldn’t have asked for a better family to be welcomed into. Enjoy the every day moments. With gratitude, Katrina.
