		<description>Well... The Chinese invented the teacup because they liked drinking tea. The teacup is the perfect vessel for holding tea. As a result they never moved on to making glass. Europeans invented glass because they liked wine. Wine needs to held in a glass. Because Europeans needed wine glasses, they discovered other uses for glass such as lenses, beakers and windows. When someone discovered that lenses could be used for eyeglasses the length of time that someone could work for increased. Windows let light into a home, beakers led to scientific breakthroughs and European society, generally, started advancing faster than the Chinese one. This had not been the case for hundreds of years. So to sum up, why is it glass? because glass is better for letting light in than paper.</description>

		<description>I am pretty sure when Ella asked me this the other day I said something like &quot;because when it breaks, it breaks into many tiny little pieces that you can cut yourself on and then you&#039;ll have a booboo and then you may start crying. You don&#039;t want to cry, do you?&quot; It&#039;s a little underhanded but I like answering her why&#039;s with a question that she has to answer.</description>
