Take your photography to the next level with this hands-on, intense workshop!
Join photographer, Katrina Stewart, and Langara College’s Professional Photo-Imaging tech guru, Eric Stewart, for a day of hands on photography.
This ‘intensive’ is all about finding great light and making it even better with modified off-camera flash. We’ll also create great light in the toughest conditions. Bring your Canon or Nikon speedlight systems or your old school manual set up. We’re covering it all. Beau Photo has generously agreed to give us access to some of their equipment, so if you’re wanting to try a new off-camera flash system, we’ll be able to hook you up for the day 🙂
The day will start in the classroom at Creekside Community Centre, located in the Athlete’s Village on False Creek. A detailed overview of flash systems and photographic technique will take place in this amazing facility. We’ll talk about what makes great light, how to find it and how to supplement it with flash.
After a couple of quick demos, you’ll start photographing mini assignments where you’ll experiment with technique using one of our 4 models. With one model for every two students, there won’t be much standing around – An ‘intensive’ is a hands-on photographic experience. After you’ve completed each “assignment”, we’ll re-convene in the classroom to go over the results. After that, it’s back outside working with the models in another scenario.
Eight students, four models and two instructors. You will work, you will sweat, you will be a better photographer. We promise. No … really … we actually guarantee it.
