A daisy story

Eric’s been at a photography educators conference in Ontario for the last five days. When he’d travel before we had Ella, I loved having the house to myself for a few days. I’d usually stock up on some cheesy “girl” movies, sleep in the middle of the bed and pamper myself. As much as I missed having him around, I was quite happy for some solitude.

However, since Ella came along, I find the time he’s away to be a little strange. Ella’s usually a little out of sorts and misses her dad. She takes a little longer to go to sleep at night and needs some extra cuddles (which I actually love, because I know that soon enough she won’t want to cuddle!). I find by the end of the day, all I want to do is crawl into bed and go to sleep too. I also find that there are so many little moments that Eric misses when he’s away, so I do my best to photograph some of our adventures. This way, we can use them to tell our stories when he gets home. Here’s our story from Saturday afternoon at Garry Point Park in Steveston.

Her funny face, while checking out the kites at the park. I wish I knew what she was thinking!

She spent over half an hour picking these little white daises.

Then she’d show them to me, before stuffing them in her coat pocket. There were at least 20 in there by the time we got home!!

I loved the way the wind would play with the curls in her hair.

After she was finished with a patch of daises. She would stand up and look around, intently trying to figure out which one she should head to next!

Happy Monday…I know Ella’s looking forward to seeing her dad tonight!
