I finally had a moment to sit down and take a look through our photos from Christmas. It made me smile, so I thought I would share 🙂
My sister-in-law is originally from Mexico and this year, her family came up for the holidays. My mom hosted 18 adults and 5 kids for dinner. It was a wonderful, fun filled day. We shared stories, food and traditions.
In Mexico, Pinatas are broken open at most celebrations, including Christmas…so we had two pinatas. One for the kids and one for the adults! When I saw the bag of candy that came in the door to be stuffed into them, I was shocked. It was a LOT of candy. I don’t know if the kids had more fun stuffing the pinata or grabbing the loot when it was broken open.
Let the stuffing begin!
My nephew, Sam, taking his turn.
Helping Ella with one of her turns.
Let there be loot 🙂
A glimpse of most of the guests, enjoying a “quiet” moment by the tree after dinner.
When Eric and I started dating, he made his nephew, Charlie, a giant dog, similar to the bear I made for Ella last year. After we got married, we decided that all our nieces, nephews and kids would receive a giant pillow animal for their second Christmas. This year, it was Eli’s turn. I think he liked his elephant!
One of my favorite moments from the day, Tehya soaking in the surroundings on my dad’s lap.
