A Moment of Pause

Do you ever stop to take stock of where you are in your life right now? Do you take the precious moments to simply breathe and relish in your life? Tomorrow is my 37th birthday. So this morning, I paused for a moment. I took stock of my life, what I’ve accomplished, where I’m headed and how lucky I am. I smiled. My life is pretty amazing.

I have a wonderful husband who supports me in the pursuit of my dreams. I have two sweet, beautiful little girls, whom I love with all my heart. I have wonderful clients, who support me in being able to follow my passion. I have a beautiful home, with an amazing backyard, and when we sit outside on the deck to eat dinner at night, I feel like I’m on holiday somewhere. I am blessed.

As a child, I can remember friends talking about 40 being so “old”, but I never saw life that way. I was lucky enough to know my great great grandma, my great grandparents and my grandparents on my mom’s side of the family. My great great grandma was born in 1883 and lived to be almost 108, so my view on what’s old is a little skewed. I loved listening to her talk about what life was like when she was young. I can only imagine what she would think of things like the internet and cell phones and so many other modern day conveniences that we take for granted every single day. She was an incredible woman and I strive to live life as openly as she did.

I like to think of my birthday as the start of a new year. A year that is full of possibilities, of experiences that are yet to be had. A year to live my life even more fully. Happy New Year 🙂
