As many of you know, for the last several years, I’ve had a happiness jar. A place to put notes that I’ve written about something great that happened every day. Then, at the end of the year, I sit down and read them all, reliving all those wonderful moments. This is what my jar looks like. It’s an old cookie jar that belonged to Eric’s Grandma. I love it.
Last year, I didn’t write many happy thoughts to put in the jar. Nothing was written at all after June 6th and it was sporadic, at best, before that. This year, I made a decision to put the jar on our kitchen table and involve the girls in the process. So each night at dinner, we talk about our day. We talk about what went right and what went wrong and then we write a memory together. We’re only a week into the project, but it’s really helped me focus in on what’s important in my every day life. It’s also make an impact on how everyone in the house is feeling. So much more positive energy 🙂
Hope you’re all still hanging in there, focusing in more and more on what’s important to you!
