This is it, the last week of the challenge and it appears that I’m the only one who’s written a post for the Carnival! So that leaves me with lots of questions. How do you feel you did? Have you changed? Is life easier, different, better, the same? I know, for me, it’s different and it’s heading towards better!
It’s been a long time since I’ve practiced yoga with any regularity. I love so many aspects of it, and it’s a great compliment to my karate training, but since having Tehya, I’ve put a lot of the stuff that I do specifically for me on hold. This week our challenge was to practice yoga three times for 20 minutes at a stretch. I managed five minutes one morning… so didn’t quite make the goal.
As I mentioned last week, I’ve been making some big changes to the routines around here and things are still getting sorted out. My “plan” included me waking by about 7 am, so that I’d have about an hour to myself before the kids got up at 8… but the kids have started to wake up even earlier than that, and I’ve worked late a couple of nights, so didn’t get up in time… which are all the very convenient excuses why I didn’t make time this week for yoga.
I know that I could have tried to practice it with the kids, but lately they’ve been more interested in running and riding bikes and being busy. Staying somewhat still and stretching? Nope, wasn’t going to happen, so I didn’t force the issue.
One of the things that I’ve been really focused on in the last few weeks is getting really settled into our home. I’ve been organizing spaces, finding homes for things, getting rid of the excess. My hope is that by doing this, I will feel more “on top of things” and therefore, activities like yoga and karate and time for me, will be a little easier to manage. A peaceful, zen-like space may be just what I need!
Would love to hear what you thought or how you felt through the challenge, so leave a comment or send us an email!
Happy Friday 🙂
