A while back, I went on a bit of a prop buying spree. During a trip along Main Street, I found this great basket being used in a local yarn shop. It wasn’t for sale but when I talked to the owner, she agreed to sell it to me. I was pretty excited. Being pregnant at the time, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the basket when our newest addition arrived.
You see, one of the hobbies that Eric and I share is knitting. It was one of the things that helped us connect when we first met. It’s a great way to relax and I’m sure at some point in our lives, Ella and Tehya will think that their parents are a little weird! Combine this, with our love of photography, our cute new addition, Tehya and you have some pretty powerful emotional symbols!
Eric and I had a lot of fun creating these portraits. It made my heart happy to see it all come together!
To satisfy the “photo geeks” out there, here’s what the set up looked like.
Yarn, a cool basket and a sleeping baby – what’s not to love?
All cozy under the blanket that I knit for her.
I love the contrast of textures here between the yarn and Tehya’s smooth skin.
