It’s funny, when Eric and I first became parents, we chuckled at the idea of date nights away from the kids. We figured that we had lots of time together away from the kids, as we were out on sessions together a lot. We also don’t own a TV, so after the kids go to bed, we spend a lot of time talking… and occasionally we’ll watch a movie and knit together. Then we moved to Pitt Meadows… and I went back to doing a lot of the sessions by myself… and then life just seemed to get busier and busier. It seemed less easy to connect.
We talked to my sister about getting our kids together more often, and having sleepovers for them. In January, we did the first sleepover, with her boys coming over to our house. In February, they took the girls… and back and forth it’s gone. One night a month where we either have 4 kids… or no kids. It’s been pretty fantastic.
This past Friday was date night. We’ve decided to make The Firehall Bistro our “regular” spot. The food is AMAZING, the staff is fantastic and it’s a short 10 minute walk from our house. What’s not to love?
A bottle of wine with dinner…
So if you’re ever out this way, I’d definitely recommend checking it out!
