Enjoying the time…

Well, I’m a few days past my due date now and I have to admit, I’m a little frustrated. I’m finding it hard to remain focused on the positive side of things because I’m so uncomfortable.

So I decided to start working on a LONG overdue project. When Eric and I got married, instead of a guest book, we had our guests sign squares of fabric. My intent was to make a quilt with the squares. Well…that hasn’t happened and it’s been nearly five years! The squares have been tucked away safely, and I kept thinking, “When I have a little more free time.” I’ve since come to the conclusion that unless I “make” time, I’m never going to “find” the time!

About a month ago, I started sketching out some ideas for the quilt. Then I went and bought some fabric. I’ve been slowly cutting it all up and am almost at the point where I can start to lay it out and decide which squares are going where etc. It feels good to start the process and it’s helping to keep my mind off of other things.

Here’s hoping it won’t be another 5 years before I actually get it finished!

Happy Thursday 🙂

A few of my favourite squares, with some of the fabrics!
