Back in July, I was thrilled to learn that I’d won a free sign from One of a Kind Signs. It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted on my sign. It was actually while we were visiting friends on the Sunshine Coast that something clicked. They had a sign up in their eating area that I fell in love with. It was all the inspiration that I needed to get in touch with Holli and get my sign done.
I LOVE working with other small businesses and Holli was truly wonderful. I had lots of questions and thoughts on what I wanted to do. She was quick to respond to all my questions and suggest a different size when the size that I’d won wouldn’t work with what I wanted. Within a day, she sent me a proof, which I absolutely loved. She asked about deadlines, and I said that if it was possible to have it before September 21st, that would be amazing. I gave my approval to the mock up on August 25th, so when I got an email this past Friday saying that my sign was done, I was a little shocked. It was so much faster than I’d expected!
I was too excited to wait to pick it up, so I headed out as soon as I could on Saturday (I would have gone on Friday if Tehya hadn’t been napping!) and that night it went up on the wall. The rest of the wall is blank at the moment, but we plan to fill it with family photos as the kids grow. We’re thinking one per adventure 🙂
The close up.
The best part of the sign being up is that Ella has been memorizing all the “rules”. At lunch yesterday, I shared some of my cinnamon bun with her and she said to me, “Mommy, you’re being so good following the rules by sharing!” Then as she was getting ready to go to bed last night, she kept repeating random rules to herself and wanted to read the sign again. It was pretty cute. She keeps reminding Tehya about them as well. It’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts before the newness of it wears off!
Holli & Kevin, thank you so much for the amazing work you did on our sign. We are beyond thrilled with it and I’m sure we’ll be in touch when we need more signs created!
Oh, and they have a contest running right now on their facebook page, so be sure to check it out and give them a “like”!
