For the Love of Dog

Sometimes, the best part of my job is doing something to make someone else smile. Last week, I was scrolling through my News Feed on Facebook, when I saw a post by a friend about her dog, Arthur. He’d been diagnosed with cancer and despite one round of chemo, he didn’t have a lot of time left. It only took me a moment to make the decision – I wanted to capture some images for her. Just her and her four legged furry friend. A special keepsake for when he was gone.

We met at Spanish Banks last Saturday and the weather was perfect. Slightly overcast with just the right amount of sun peeking through. We found a great place by the water and I’m so pleased with what we captured. A tiny little vignette in the life of Arthur.

Laura, thank you for accepting my offer. I’m so honoured to have been able to gift these images to you and I do hope you love them. Words often cannot describe the relationship between people and their pets, but few things can replace the bond we feel with them. Often they are our best source of unconditional love, our quiet confidants and our warm comfort, all rolled into one. We laugh, we love and we play. Few relationships in life are as simple as that of someone with their dog, but they are often the ones that make the most impact. I remember the first time I photographed you with Arthur. Lots has changed since then, but it’s obvious to see that the bond you share has simply gotten stronger. May the time you have left together be full of fun, laughter and happiness 🙂

Happy Friday!
