At the end of August, in the midst of one of the worst weather weekends we had this summer, Eric and I drove up to beautiful Sunwolf in Squamish to document Kate and Desmond’s Wedding! We arrived to heavy rain, but high spirits. Everyone was in a great mood and ready to celebrate, no matter what the weather did!
From the simple signs to all the small details, Kate and Desmond really personalized their wedding.
Kate was so relaxed as she got ready, surrounded by her friends.
I loved her dress, the lace was exquisite!!
While I photographed Kate’s shoes…
Eric photographed Penny’s! Soooo cute!!!
Ready to see his bride!
Just about time…
Everyone is so happy…
I love when couples choose to do a first look! Kate and I arrived a little before Des, so I took advantage of the time do get a couple of portraits of Kate. Isn’t she stunning? (I also LOVE the fact that mother nature cooperated and gave us an hour without rain!)
Waiting…
All smiles when he sees Kate…
And she couldn’t be happier to see him!
Don’t ask me why, but for some reason, I just love this image…
A quiet moment together.
By far, my favourite image of the two of them. It just screams LOVE!!!
And who could forget sweet little Penny… she looked so adorable all dressed up!
Because of the rain, the ceremony was moved to the lodge porch.
A “quiet” moment before the ceremony!
Walking down the aisle!
It was full!!
Saying their vows…
And sealed with a kiss!
Love the simplicity of their rings
And the flowers from their garden!
The reception was moved inside a tent and it was perfect!
So many beautiful flowers from their garden…
And even some to take home!!
So happy together!
Kate and Desmond, Thank you! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day and sharing this time with us. It was an honour to get to know you and an absolute pleasure to photograph your beautiful day. It was so nice to hear that the weather held… as did the power for you that night and that it even stopped raining for your evening bonfire! All in all a perfect end to your perfect day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness. With gratitude, Katrina.
