A couple of weeks ago, we had planned to take my family’s portraits… all of us. That means co-ordinating 9 adults and 4 kids, but we managed it. The plan was made, the date, place and time were set… or so I thought.
Eric and I arrived at the park, and met up with Stephanie, a Langara student who had volunteered to help us out that day. My family…not there yet. So, I called my parents, they were just leaving the house, as they’d needed to wait for my younger sister, who’d just gotten home from work. 10 minutes, they said.
Just as I hung up with them, my older sister called… stuck in traffic. 10, possibly 15 minutes they said.
Then I called my brother, and this is where the plan fell apart. He was sick and had gotten the dates mixed up. In short, he & his wife weren’t going to make it. Hmmm…so now what? We couldn’t do family photographs with part of the family missing.
So as everyone else arrived, we did the individual family groups and decided that the big group would have to wait for another day. Maybe the spring…
My parents. Really, my rocks. They have supported me through thick and thin and have shown me what true love looks like. I love them!
However, this photo is more suited to how my dad really reacts in front of the camera…
My sister and her beautiful family!
My “baby” sister…she’ll probably kill me for saying that. Love her to pieces.
And yes, Eric, Ella, Tehya and I did actually pose for the camera. Thank you Steph, for taking this one.
After the session, we headed back to my mom and dad’s for dinner. My grandpa had arrived that day from the Queen Charlotte Islands, so we took the opportunity to take a few more photographs.
Tehya and her great grandpa!
Our attempt to get all four grandkids with their great grandpa in one photograph. The biggest problem here, is we were competing with the hockey game and Tehya!!
My sister also asked if we could get a photograph of her boys together and this is what happens! I love my nephews, but they are BUSY boys!!
Wishing you a wonderful day 🙂
