I LOVE productive weekends! Saturday was a day for errands, and we went on a bit of a shopping spree. I bought some great new props and amazing fabrics for baby photographs. I can’t wait to try some of them out this coming weekend!! I picked up a HUGE duffle bag from Mountain Equipment CO-OP, so that I can transport all my new props/fabrics into my client’s homes. I also picked up some new yarn for baby hats (read more new props!). While I was in this great little yarn shop on Main Street choosing my fabulous new yarns, I heard them mention a website called Ravelry.
Ravelry is a community based site geared towards people who love yarn (knitters, crocheters, designers etc.) They have all sorts of resources, from free patterns to organization systems for your yarns and needles. This is where the geek in me came out. I spent the better part of Sunday, inputting all my needles, hooks & yarns to my profile. I photographed all the different yarns I have and finally got them completely organized into different storage bins. It’s even got a place where you can say that this yarn is stored in this spot – so fantastic!!! Eric can’t complain too much because he’s as guilty as I am for loving yarn!! Yes, Eric knits too 😛 (sorry for “outting” you!) It feels so good to have all my yarns organized, and to have an easy place that I can access them from. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a LONG time and just didn’t have the right resource. I’m SO excited to have heard about this site!! (Yes, I am again showing my geeky tendencies)
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the yarns I’ll be using for the baby hats!
Hope you all had a great weekend too! Happy Monday 🙂
