There are few things I love more than being able to be included in a special moment, especially for someone whom I’ve known for a really long time. I first met Nisse through her mom when she was about 6 years old, I photographed her graduation about 10 years ago and through the years, I’ve watched her grow into the amazing woman she is today. She’s kind, adventurous, hard working and truly as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. In Nick, she has found someone to love, laugh and grow with. Together, they are an incredible couple, who spent a lot of time putting together a very intimate wedding, in a very short amount of time, just so that Nisse’s step dad could be there. Here’s their day, through my eyes.
There were lots of little details. From vintage chairs to beautiful noise makes, even Klennex for the moments when you needed it.
Oh and umbrellas… because Mother Nature simply didn’t want to cooperate for the ceremony!
Her bouquet was simply stunning.
With a little pin, to have her brother close, even though he wasn’t able to travel out for the wedding.
Her adorable niece, and flower girl, who was SO excited to have a long dress to wear.
Shoes… need I say more?
Love that while I was with Nisse, Eric was with Nick.
Love this photo of Nick with his dad!
I had a lot of images that I loved of Nisse getting ready, but these are my favourites…
The necklace that Nisse is wearing, was worn by her mom, when she got married.
This image just makes me smile. This is Nisse’s step dad’s first look at his little girl in her wedding dress. He had been diagnosed with cancer in June, and had been hanging on for this day. His look is that of pure love and I’m so glad I captured it.
Despite the pouring rain, you couldn’t wipe the smile from Nisse’s face.
She was so happy to have both her dads with her for this special moment.
It was such a sweet, simple ceremony, but definitely one filled with love.
Some drinks to celebrate 🙂
A group photo of everyone who was there!
Then, we headed off to find a dry spot to take some portraits. I loved how her bouquet looked here…
LOVE… that is all…
Such an easy couple to photograph… so natural in front of the camera!
Nick’s special occasion watch…
Nisse found this great vintage rental company, and I was so glad we were able to take advantage of the beautiful love seats she’d rented!
As we were finishing up, Nick’s dad asked if I had this specific photograph… I didn’t, but he really wanted it… and I love my view of him getting the image he wanted!
Some of the incredible details from their reception…
And finally, the chefs that Nisse works with, who did an AMAZING job on the food.
Nisse and Nick, thank you so much for your trust in us. I know this day meant so much to you and I hope we were able to do it the justice it deserved. I hope the coming year brings more joy than sorrow and that your love continues to grow. You both are so incredible, and it was an honour to be a part of your day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! K.
