Today, Ella turns 4. FOUR! How did that happen? I know it’s cliche, but it’s really hard for me to believe how quickly the time has passed us by. Ella’s an amazing kid and every day, I feel lucky to be her mom. She never ceases to amaze me with the love that she shows to the people around her. She has an incredible sense of humor, a steel trap mind and a heart of gold. She’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and I’m so grateful 🙂
Last year, Sarah at Prenatal to Parenting, sent me a link to these 20 questions. It only takes a few minutes to go through the list and it’s fun to see how the answers change (or don’t!) from year to year. Ella made us smile with a few of her answers this year. Like the fact that her favourite animal is a Camel (??) and that when she grows up, she wants to be a doctor (last year’s answer was that she wanted to be a Hugger 🙂 )!
One of the things that hasn’t changed since last year, is her favourite tv show, The Octonauts. So when Eric found this Octonauts crochet pattern a couple of months ago, I was super excited (yes, I do realize that this makes me a bit of a dork!). For the first time that I can remember, I wasn’t scrambling to complete this present in the wee hours of the morning! In fact, Eric was impressed that he was finished over a week ago!!
I can’t wait for Ella to open her present today and see the special gift I was able to create for her!!
p.s. For those of you who follow the blog and know that we do bi-yearly portraits of our kids… Ella’s portraits will be up soon
