Tuesday’s tip – The great cleanup – part 5

It’s been five long weeks for many of you. I’ve chatted with a few people who are still working on deleting unwanted files. Others are having troubles organizing their images. Keep at it, the fun is about to begin.

This week’s tip is… Do something with your images.

There are so many wonderful things that you can do with photographs. Here’s a short list.

Travel photographs could be made into a photo book with captions. Tell the story of your holiday. You can choose the theme: Is it a story suitable for kids? for history buffs? for animal enthusiasts? You get to decide. Here are a three companies that offer self publishing: Lulu, Shutterfly, and Apple.

Family photographs can be made into books as well. Perhaps combine a love of genealogy with your photography:

Take your ten very best images and create thank you cards.

Family photos can be printed an put on the walls of your home. Hallways make great locations for family collages. Ikea sells small frames for individual images or collage frames for lots of little 4×6’s.

Post images to a family blog or to a flickr account to share them online.

Get your images off your computer, print them and share them in a creative way… How about stamps (something that we’ve done for clients in the past), to do lists, photo calendars, fridge magnets, jewellery, the list goes on and on…

I’d love to hear your ideas on how to share your photographs. Post a comment either here or share this post on Facebook with your ideas and we’ll draw for a set of our thank you cards.
