Tuesday’s Tips – Landscape photography 3

Darwin Wiggett is a Canadian landscape photographer. This is his most famous image:

The reason that I wanted to show this piece is that Darwin often makes his photographs with his lens pointing directly at the light. With today’s modern cameras, you can point your camera directly towards the light and get some amazing results. One proviso if you’re going to try this: make sure there is something in between the sun and your camera. Fog, a tree, clouds or a lot of atmosphere during a sunset, make for great sun blockers and great images. Here’s another couple of Darwin’s images:
