I’m always excited when amazing opportunities come my way. About a month ago I wrote about The Beauty of Birth and put it out there that I was looking to photograph more births. A couple of days later, I received an email from Christine inquiring about birth photography (Thank you Sarah!). We met about a week later to have a chat and make sure I was the right fit for her. I was thrilled when Christine hired me to be her birth photographer, as well as for newborn and maternity portraits!
I love being able to photograph in my client’s homes, as I find that it lends such a personal feel to the images. This was certainly the case with Christine and Kent’s beautiful home. I was happy that Eric was able to join me for this session, as it meant I got a little chance to visit with Christine, as he got the lights sorted out for me 🙂
I love how intimate this image feels. Just like we happened upon a moment in Christine’s every day life…
As we were setting this image up, Christine was saying she’d love to get a shot with her cat in it, but didn’t think she would cooperate… I was excited when she did 🙂
Sometimes, focusing on the small details is truly what counts.
These next two images are by far my favourites from the session. There’s something so simple and beautiful about the pregnant shape, that you really want to highlight it!
Christine and Kent, THANK YOU for inviting us into your home and sharing some time with us last weekend. We had a great time and hope you did too. I’m looking forward to the call sometime next month to document the next stage of this amazing process for you and to meet your newest family member.
Happy Monday 🙂
